Meets the novelist Joseph Peyré with whom he develops a long-lasting friendship.

Sells Maurinay and moves to Paris; drafted at the start of the war, he resumes his artistic activities in 1940.

Wins the “Club du Tableau” prize (together with Jean Joyet).

Nominated for the grand prize for painting offered on the occasion of the Thirteenths Centenary of the Benedictine Abbey at Fécamp.
